Luke Rice
Luke Rice, founder of Uncommon Journey Recruiting Services, has spent over 20 years working in academia at Washington State University and Idaho State University.
A former Division I football player at Washington State University (1995-97) and husband to former WSU javelin thrower Jaime (Owens) Rice, Luke has a deep-rooted passion for collegiate athletics. His journey into the world of softball recruiting began when his daughter, at age 10, expressed her dream of playing Division I softball.
Leveraging nine years of experience in fastpitch softball, both locally and nationally, as well as coaching at the high school (GSL 2A Assistant Coach of the Year 2023 & 2024) and premier club levels, Luke created Uncommon Journey Recruiting Services to help families avoid the confusion and mistakes he faced. His expertise in recruiting platforms, strategic planning, and player development makes him a trusted resource for aspiring college softball players and their families.
